Here's a couple photos from the office. The first is a picture of bosses desk, since he's such a mysterious guy and I can't seem to get him to let me post a picture of him up here, it'll have to do. Second is me and my AWESOME new present. Bossman bought me a soda-cooler thing that plugs in to my USB drive. It's absolutely fabulous. Keeps my sodas nice and chilly. =) Last is a picture of Chris, complaining that I am taking a picture of him. Why are all the men in my office so uptight about photos?

Anyway, things at office are great. Chris just wrapped up the ChickFight 6 DVD, so that will be in stores by the end of this week! Super cool. Of course, keep your eye on http://www.chickfight.tv if you want to buy ChickFight 1 - 5. It looks really good. The graphics are awesome. The matches are super. You can of course by the matches on ClickWrestle as well. They are all available now.

I have a TON of new footage from Germany getting ready to hit ClickWrestle. Mostly footage from wXw and German Stampede Wrestling. Should be some great stuff. Also, WXW has agreed to distribute DVD's to our international fans so if you'd like to buy some ChickFight DVD's internationally check out their shop!

This week has flown by here at the office. I don't quite understand how it happens.. One day it's Monday, and then the very next day it's Friday. It's like magic, and it's a little scary. Let's see how fast this thing can go. Woah-oh.

In some very exciting ClickWrestle news.. We have ChickFight VI releasing starting tomorrow! Huzzah! ChickFight VI was an awesome show. Chris has done some awesome post production, and the matches themselves are awesome.. So go watch them! Very good stuff, and you can get it only at ClickWrestle right now. Soon enough they will be available on ChickFight.TV on DVD. In fact, that's what Chris has been working on for the past couple weeks. I've seen quite a bit of it, and it looks really neat. The DVD intro is currently my favorite.. and not just because it features our new Theme Song, "Victory". I am talking Chris into letting me post it online, so I'll let you all know my progress.

On Tuesday Bossman, his wife, Chris, and I all went to a screening at the Metreon where NewTeeVee was giving awards to the best internet commercials. We had entered our own ClickWrestle commercial, "The Coins Have Eyes", where Leprechaun Melissa made her debut. We didn't win any awards.. but it was nice to be recognized and voted upon. We got pretty good votes. =) You can go check out the screening winners, the contestants, and our video at this linky here for NewTeevee Screenings. It has inspired me for future commercials. It has also left me wondering "Where's the sausage?" Maybe Bossman knows. If you watch any of those, make sure to watch the one called "Engaged". It's cute.

Oh oh oh! We have a new intern. =) His name is Graham. He's our marketing and sales intern, and he's super cool. He's got a lot of fire in him. I like how motivated he is. Actually.. he should be coming in today. Maybe he'll let me take a picture for the blog. Oh.. better yet.. maybe I'll be able to get a picture of our other intern, Cat. There is a good chance if I get a picture of her, she'll be asleep. Just sayin'..

Bossman is on to a new trend, it's called the Standing Meeting. It's theory is that you have a daily/weekly meeting where everyone has 5 topics/tasks that they are tackling and they present them to each other within 30 minutes... all while standing. The standing is supposed to make you uncomfortable and realize that brevity is of the essence. Ending with a brief, effective, and efficient meeting. So far I like the idea. But our first meeting was awesome.. and it had nothing to do with standing.
Bossman recently bought us some toys for the office. Chris got a little nerf dart-gun thing, and I (of course) got a barbie doll. Chris' toy is way cooler than mine.. and I did covet it for quite a while. Especially after Chris made a holster for it, and started wearing it around like a cowboy. That sort of digressed to us dressing like Cowboys and Indians. Chris had his holster, his gun, and I even made him a little Sheriff's star. (On which I misspelled sheriff, and I am going to pretend it was on purpose to add to the cute childlike nostalgia rather than my horrible spelling skills running rampant.) Chris made me a head-dress, complete with a pigeon feather for authenticity. Total prep time: about 5 minutes. Then we headed into our Standing Meeting and proceeded to have a very serious talk about business matters.. which only ended up in ONE shooting of the indian and ONE very dramatic death-scene. I LOVE my job. Just sayin'..

New on ClickWrestle: Chikara! Chikara is finally posting so go enjoy a match or two. Sumie Sakai versus Cassanova released today and it's pretty funny. Also, Shimmer volume 8 is releasing right now, too. So you have a ton of great female footage coming your way.

Chris has been working on ChickFight 6 and rigging up his ghetto-tronics all day, and he is doing an admirable job. I haven't really been working on annoying Bossman today, but I've been doing an admirable job.

We have a new intern here at the office. Her name is Cat, and she is from Hong Kong. She is in college and is working on getting her degree in broadcasting. She'll be here through August, and she is a pretty amusing chick. She has been working on doing music videos for a few wrestlers. When she is not doing that.. she is sleeping. Which I am wondering if that's a Hong Kong thing, or just a her thing. In any case, it's pretty funny. Today she is working on a video for Oliver John, whose music is Rush's "Working Man". I don't think she appreciates the weird, American Butt-Rock, but Chris sure is digging it. He won't.. stop.. singing.. it. Which is only fair. I blast Fiona Apple all day, after all.

Aside from torturing my dear office-mate, Chris, with my new musical obsessions .. I've been doing quite a bit here at the office. Not much of it has been blogging, and I do apologize. I tend to get easily distracted.

So what exactly have I been working on? Well. I am working on a few things. I am attempting to set up a new hotline for ChickFight. It's both fun and a little frustrating. I am actually doing the voice-work for it. It seems like it would be an easy task, but I can't seem to keep from stuttering and sounding like a robot. Ahh, maybe it'll get easier. I'll let you all know when it goes live. =)

I've also been working on getting some new footage through the doors here at ClickWrestle. With Chikara signed on, and their footage just about ready to go.. You'll be seeing them soon. I've also been working on a few distribution deals in Germany.. and hopefully there will be some big announcements for that soon. Very exciting stuff. Whee!

I was pretty psyched to give you all results from our latest ChickFight 9 show that took place over the weekend.. and then I spoke to BossMan and he gave me some unfortunate news.

Apparently during a match that took place at an event prior to ChickFight, Cheerleader Melissa was fighting Sweet Saraya. They took it to the outside of the ring, when Sweet Saraya fell upon a broken soda can. She suffered a grisly wound, cutting her kneecap off. Everytime I think about it I get sick to my stomach. We here at ClickWrestle and ChickFight wish her a speedy recovery.

There is a good chance this could cost Saraya her career. So here's a tip folks, pick up your freaking trash.

Leather, Spikes, and Chains

Leather, spikes, chains, green goo sprayed in people's face. All stuff you'd associate with MsChif. But while getting prepared to post the new Shimmer volume 7/8 stuff... I was quite surprised. It appears that ClickWrestle favorite Cheerleader Melissa has been wooed by MsChif and has taken to donning the Green and Leather in celebration. The two team up and take on The HomeWrecking Crew, Rain and Lacey. It's a brutal match and it's absolutely stunning to see Melissa and MsChif in cahoots. What a team they make. I can't wait until this stuff starts going live. I'll keep you all updated. =) Speaking of Shimmer, after speaking with Dave Prazak recently, I've decided he's one of the nicest guys I've ran into in the wrestling scene. What a sweetie. Anyhow. On to life at the office.

In our spare time here at the office, Chris and Bossman have taken to playing Xbox. Specifically Def Jam: Fight for New York. It's pretty funny, watching these two white boys get G'd out and sport the Bling. (Insert more appropriate lingo here!) Chris and Bossman even have their own characters based on themselves. It's adorable. They get so competitive. Ahh. I don't know if I could even stand a chance, though, when it comes to competing with these guys. I just don't have the whole hand/eye coordination thing going. Plus, they don't even LET you make a female character. How horrible is that? Boo.

Also: I am hoping to get some Chikara Wrestling footage out here. I am quite close to closing a deal with them right now. So if you're a fan, good news! Let me know what matches ya'll are interested in and I'll try to make it happen!

Since hurting my foot, I've had a sort of crappy week. I am hoping it's on the up and up, but it's definitely put me in a blog-depriving mood. So.. I apologize for not blogging all week. I was tempted to post pictures of my wrecked foot, or what Chris and I have started calling "Zombie Foot". But that is even grosser than the IWA DeathMatches. So I will settle for letting you all know that it really DID look like a zombie foot for a while, there.. All purple and blue and swollen and gross. Ew. But I am much better now. So out with the Zombie Foot, in with the ClickWrestle news.

I spent a lot of my time reviewing sales this week. As it turns out Amazing Kong vs. Nikki Roxx and Lacey vs. Nikita are our top sellers this year. It's nice to see the ClickWrestle viewers have such great taste.. Lacey and Kong are awesome! Actually, Amazing Kong is on a roll right now. People seem to really enjoy her style. She's definitely a strong, fierce woman and comes in an impressive package. She absolutely demolishes almost every opponent she comes against. A lot of people don't know that she has a strong history of wrestling in Japan, though. All you Kong fans should watch her during her JD Star days. Watch the match with her against Tsunami. Two large, extremely strong women in a hardcore match where they tear up an entire arena beating each other down.

All right, I am going to go capture some IWA-MS footage.. Wish me luck. (I sure hope there is a lot less blood and guts in this batch!)

Injured.

Ah. I am broken. Yesterday afternoon I did some horrible thing to my foot, bent it at an obscene angle, and now I am all sorts of broken. I am not sure what's wrong with my foot, yet. But it sucks. Which leads me to wonder..

How do all these wrestlers go about with their daily wrestling routine knowing that quite certainly there will be an injury somewhere around the corner. So many wrestlers get some sort of horrible injury along the way. One of my favorite female wrestlers, Rebbecca Knox, was injured a little bit ago. From what I've heard, hasn't made it back to the ring since. She writes in her journal at her site:

"I am very upset I have to write this email because I have to cancel all future dates until December. I am not sure if you had heard about the knock to the head I got in Germany a few weeks ago or not, but I got a bad cut above the eye and it was stitched up and all seemed fine. But after a few days I was getting extremely painful headaches, loud buzzing in my left ear and my vision in my left eye is completely blurred. The doctor has told me it may be damage to the 8th cranial nerve and I am waiting for a ct brain scan and have been adviced to stop wrsetling for the next few months. It could be permanent or it could go away by itself. but untill all signs have been allevated I will not be able to engage in any heavy physical activity"

Then there is an old friend of mine.. He was the head bootcamp trainer at APW for a while, and also led a fantastic wrestling career of his own. He suffered repeated concussions while wrestling, and in the end of things, began having blackouts and intense head-aches. He was in pretty bad shape, and decided to retire. It was an emotional occasion. He was beloved by his co-workers, and adored by his fans. But losing him in the ring was a much better than losing him in life. He retired, and it was probably for the better. Yet.. A few years later, there he was.. Back in the ring! Which makes me wonder what it is about wrestling that makes people risk FURTHER injuring themselves. I have heard from many, many people that wrestling runs in one's blood. Maybe there is some truth to that.

In any case. My foot hurts. I am going to go put some ice on it.

So, ever since I watched all of these IWA-Mid South matches, I've been feeling a little desensitized to the pain in other wrestling matches. For example, that clip I posted earlier? Looks neat, but nah.. couldn't of hurt anyone! Or perhaps MsChif being bent into an inverted Four Leaf Clover by Melissa and getting kicked in the head with her own foot? (By the way, you can see that in the ChickFight 7 matches that have begun releasing yesterday!) Bah. That's nothing in comparison to some of these male Death Matches that are on their way to ClickWrestle from IWA-MS. Just.. Just.. ugh. Keep your eyes open. Or closed.. but.. yea.

Anyhow, what I said a moment ago is true ChickFight 7, UK edition, is finally releasing! I was quite pleased to see Lacey in the first release. I am not quite sure why, but she's always been a personal favorite of mine. She is a pretty good wrestler, and smokin' hot.. but I think it's the attitude. In any case. Definitely check out her latest release. Lacey versus UK wrestler, Eden Black. It's a great match, and I am not quite sure if I remember Lacey spitting on anyone.. but even if she doesn't? Still worth it.

Things are good here at the office. It looks like I ruffled Bossman's feathers about this mysterious thing a bit too much.. As he sent me to the store today for Safety Pins and Post-its. And refused to tell me what for. Said it was for a secret project. Ugh.

So.. while editing MPT's match against Petey Williams from last October, I came across this clip of Scotty Aboot doing some crazy flippy thing off the balcony of the Dome. While the match won't be going on CW anytime soon, I think Mr. Aboot should get some props for doing something so risky. So check it out here!

The inter-San Franciscan Man of Mystery

I think Bossman likes to come off as a mysterious, enigmatic, emotionless, corporate type. He's really, really not. It's funny. He will wear his hip glasses, his tailored black coats, and sport his cool leather blinds in his office.. but when it comes down to it, he really is just a big softie. Bossman took Chris and I out to lunch and coffee again today; we had Thai and snarky conversation. Overall a good time. I got to thinking about it, and BossMan takes us out all the freaking time. He can't be such a robot if he takes such good care of us. Chris and I have decided Bossman should adopt us, officially. Somehow I don't think he'd go for it.. let alone his new Latina Wifey, Mrs. Bossman.

Has anyone checked out OnlineWorldofWrestling ? It's the new and improved Obsessed With Wrestling site. After a small amount of domain dispute, they have a new site and it's really neat. They've been giving a lot of attention to female wrestling these days, which I really appreciate, because it's a personal interest of mine. They even had a recent review of our ChickFight 5 DVD. (Look here!) Our production staff got special props.

" A lot of great independent organizations put out some really cool DVD's but they all seem to follow the same generic production rules. Both of the Chick Fight DVD's that I've watched featured jaw-dropping audio and visual effects far superior to anything I've seen in wrestling outside of WWE and TNA. The special effects used are integrated to perfection during this show without taking away from the in-ring abilities of any of the girls. So for production value this DVD gets a perfect score of ten out of ten"

Quick blog today, since I have a short day. I just wanted to let you all know that nothing is more amusing than having Bossman return from his trip... only to walk into the room with an extremely large fire extinguisher and set it directly on Chris' desk. Very funny stuff.

I was able to talk Chris into finalizing the ChickFight 7 footage, so it looks like all that pressure worked! And today's release is another free match from APW. MPT versus Psichosis. Great match, check it out - it's on the house!

Even better than Jumble Capers.

Today was supposed to be caper day. And while it was filled with some minor capers, it was mostly crappy-day for me. Crappy thing number 1: When I came in to work today, my key got stuck in the front door. Not a huge deal, but it ended up delaying me about 1/2 an hour. Some nice man from the Greek restaurant next door was kind enough to un-stick my key for me, and then it was on with my day.

When I got upstairs, I finished capturing the last match I need to work on from the San Francisco Kezar Stadium show on 9/02/06. It happened to be the Dana Lee vs. Derek Sanders match, where Dana won the APW Universal Championship Title. After capturing all of the footage, I have effectively watched the match 4 times from 4 different angles. Then I began cutting the footage together. (Watching it again, in slow motion.) 3 or 4 hours later, I was done. I had cut the footage, rendered it, and was watching it one last time to make sure I was happy. Crappy thing number 2: During that last viewing... my editing program crash-kaboomed. Ugh. No, I didn't save. No, auto-save wasn't turned on. Argh! How frustrating. I lost half a days work that I still haven't finished again. It'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Blah. I hate that. I've learned my lesson. Auto-save is turned on. Ctrl-S is being abused. So where do the capers come in to play? Well, while Chris and I thought some photoshopping goodness could of been great boss-is-gone-caper material, our accidental caper was more than enough caper for us today.

Accidental Caper? Yep. While I was sitting at my desk, before Crappy thing number 2 occurred, I smelled... Fire? Burning? Ahh! I was immediately worried some of my video equipment was overheating, so I turned to Chris to figure out if he could smell the burning too. He could, and apparently had a better idea than I of what was going on, as he walked right to the source. Chris led me to the balcony (right where the eggs are!) He has taken to using that as his own little smoking retreat. While that is usually fine, today after smoking his cigarette, he set the butt in his makeshift ashtray and came back to the office. Apparently the butt was still burning, and it set a few of the other butts on fire. There was a nice little smoke/fire going out there when we discovered it. We poured some water on it, and everything was fine. In fact, it wasn't much of a danger at all, since it was in the middle of concrete. However, I'm not up for many more capers after the fire, program crappiness, and key crappiness.

I'll do my best to have some more uplifting news for you all tomorrow. But, if you're down like me.. Watch today's match. SeXXXy Eddy certainly brightened my mood last week!

I don't think he'd go for the new nick-name. But it applies. That man is the only person I've ever, ever seen that actually STEAMS after a match. Look! How freaky. I noticed this after editing MPT's match against JJ Perez that took place last September. What a weird little phenomenon.

Anyhow, Bossman is out of town for a few days. He is out have more mysterious adventures that he won't tell anyone anything about. I am convinced that we he takes these little leaves of absence, he's actually out being pampered at a spa somewhere. I can see him now, soaking in a big tub of mud with little cucumber slices over his eyes... Hm. In any case, I think that since Bossman is gone, Chris and I should stir up a little hell here at the office. I haven't figure it out yet, but there should be capers. I'll think of something.

In the world of ClickWrestle-to-come, we have good news! It looks like we have just about everything we need to start releasing the footage from ChickFight 7! Our last bit of audio was shipped over from the UK this week, and if I put the proper pressure on Chris, I am thinking you will all get to see what those gals can do across the Atlantic in no time. Because really, I think Chris could use a little more pressure. I'll get to that right now.

I am always amused by the serendipitous happenings that are captured by film. People these days seem to always have a camera rolling when some hilarious, terrifying, or rare thing occurs. Since I work with a lot of footage, I am privy to some amusing stuff that I might not of seen otherwise. Sure, it's limited to Pro Wrestling, but you'd be surprised at what gets caught on tape at a Pro Wrestling show. Some old lady in the stands, picking her nose. Perhaps some poor kid gets caught up in a brawl between two irate wrestlers. Or.. if you're lucky.. You can see one of your old coworkers fall on their butt.

No, really. Click here! Hah. Sorry. That just cracks me up. I was finishing up Kafu's match on Friday when I saw that. Good ol' Bryan was working the Camera at Kezar last September. It looks like he tripped over a chair while filming Kafu on the way to the ring. But it just goes to show ya.. Even the production crew takes a few shots around here.

Also, it looks like the Death Matches have started pouring out. Vanessa Kraven against Rachael Putski is particularly disturbing. I can't imagine how bad that Thumb-Tack death match must of hurt. I sat on a thumb-tack once.. and whined about it for about a week. That ~hurts~. I can't imagine how Putski's bottom feels with hundreds of them stuck in there. Ack. Buy the match! Or at least look at that preview. Ouch!

Kafu.. The Brazilian Beef.

I am sure most of you know this, but there is a man trolling the Blog-World these days going by the name of Roland Alexander. He's been in the business for decades, and started the All Pro Wrestling Boot Camp. If you've ever read his blog at www.carnycentral.com you know that he is more than a little preoccupied with a certain Brazilian fellow who goes by the name of Kafu. It's understandable, I made my own post about Kafu here about a year ago. Kafu is an impressive cat, and if you read Roland's latest blog you'll see that recently "Someone in the management capacity in a major promotion recently noticed the (Kafu's) changed portfolio."

Now, I am not sure what that means. But it sounds like good news for Mr. Kafu. Who knows if Roland speaks true here, though.. he has a history of embellishing "his" accomplishments. (Roland has been grooming Kafu for a few years now.) Yet,I found it pretty interesting that so soon after Mr. Alexander's blog, I found myself editing one of Kafu's matches at the Kezar Stadium, in San Francisco. In this match, Kafu faces Steve Corino, and as it turns out, Roland Alexander himself was banned from this event. Kafu certainly put forth some impressive skills in this match. I am not surprised at all that, if true, Kafu is getting some attention from the big leagues.

In any case.. Keep your eye open for this upcoming match. Also, check out today's new release. Sumie Sakai in a IWA-MS death-match. Bloody, disgusting, and fascinating.

I don't know if it was the fact that I have been subject to blood, horror, vomit, people setting themselves on fire, cacti, and a extremely large woman's 44dd's today.. But somehow working on this guy's footage seemed uplifting and tame in comparison. Sexxxy Eddy has absolutely no tact, and is quite perverse. He would probably hump just about any breathing female. All in all, not so appealing to a gal like me. So why did he make me so happy? Well. Let me tell ya.

I was working on our latest batch of matches from IWA-MS. All but ONE of them were Death Matches. Now, while I am not against it, I am certainly not usually exposed to what I saw today. When I posted yesterday about the footage not being for the queasy stomached, I had only seen photos. Now that I have SEEN it. Good God. I could barely watch it. The brutality of it all was so intense. I know a lot of our more.. violent.. fans will love this stuff, but man! The only thing I could take reprieve in was Sexxxy Eddy. He is a notorious womanizer and a great hardcore fighter, but he brought in some MUCH needed lightheartedness. Sure he told poor Sumie Sakai he wanted to stick his (expletive deleted) in her.. but that's better than watching Mickie Knuckles get a dollar bill stapled to her tongue. Maybe sticking his previously mentioned expletive in Mayumi Ozaki's face was a little inappropriate, that's still better than watching 2 men stumbling around like zombies before they even step into the ring. At least to me. Sexxxy Eddy for the win, today. I hope you Death Match fans appreciate these matches. I might not be able to sleep for a few nights. Eep!

In other news, while I made silent gagging noises, Chris has been working on some beautiful 3D graphics for our upcoming ChickFight TV show. (Which will be airing on MAV TV throughout the country starting in June, keep your eye out for it!) It's really beautiful stuff. He made every single bit of it from scratch, and I think it's gorgeous. Check it out!

I knew I'd be kissing his rear again in no time. He may be messy, but he's great at what he does. Anyhow.. I've recently visited a small business in the area that made me realize just how nice I have it here at ClickWrestle. Sure, I complain a bit about the mess.. but it ~is~ much bigger than a lot of offices in SF, and the mess is confined to one very small corner of Chris' world. Some of these companies in the city work out of places not much bigger than a closet, I swear.

Ya know, it's easy to get lost. I am not quite sure where I was, but I sure am glad I found my way back here. Wherever I was, it sure was dull.

Upon stumbling back into the streets of San Francisco after a year's absence, I was both relieved and shocked when I found myself back at work. Relieved because good ol' ClickWrestle is still standing. Shocked because upon entering the desolate building, I got to see how things have changed around here. Most notably... Chris. I know I have fawned over this particular Co-Worker before, and undoubtedly will again, but Chris has exploded in our office. He's got equipment, cameras, and footage EVERYWHERE. (I'll be nice and not go into detail about the cigarette pack carcasses.) The office was filthy. Once I got past THAT, I was able to see all of the great stuff that has been going on. So much new footage to work with! Wonderful things have been happening with ChickFight as well.

What else is new? Well, the ever-so-sweet Bryan has moved on to a new project. While I will mourn not being able to lock him in cages, or coerce him into eating year-old candies, I do wish him great luck in his new endeavors. Bossman is still doing quite well. Rumor has it he eloped with a Latin lady and didn't invite anyone to the wedding. Of course, there are tons of rumors about Bossman. He's a mysterious guy.

So what can you look forward to now that I am back? Well. You can look forward to my usual updates on ClickWrestle, ChickFight, and my usual bits of office gossip. What can you look forward to on ClickWrestle? Well. Keep your eye out for some horrifically bloody footage coming your way. Some of this upcoming stuff just isn't for the queasy stomached.

So exactly where have we been lately? Good question indeed... It's true, the behind-the-scenes blog has not been updated in sometime and my only excuse is there has been SO MUCH going on behind-the-scenes, we have not had time to write about it.

Just returned home after a long day of setting up for our Kezar shows tomorrow. We are working with a new set fabrication company and all I can say is I will be dreaming about spandex tonight. I never realized you could make entire stages out of that stuff. Wow..tomorrow is going to rock!

As our big Kezar event gets closer, things get a bit more hectic around the old office, as you can see here. Somewhere under that mess is a desk that I used to plan on giving to our next employee. However, it looks like Chris and Bryan are sending me a sign that they need more workspace. Hmm what a week for our cleaning service not to show up. I wonder if they are getting scared of our production pit?

The fun just never stops here at Black Pants. You see, just when Bryan and Chris thought they were on cruise control for a smooth week leading to Kezar on Saturday, we find out some APW guys needed some promo DVDs made ASAP.

Luckily, Pixel Perfect came through huge by making some awesome covers and labels, so our job should be easy. Just dub some footage, right? Not so, we have a bit of a problem with "quickees" here at the office. We like to make things that look good and sometimes that takes a little longer.

So, today's screen shot is of 2 of our video capture stations encoding footage while Bryan and Chris huddle in the dark office working on DVDs, which will turn out amazing, no doubt.

Watching new stars shimmer

A lot of you may have been giving your TV screen a double glance while you were watching WWE RAW recently. Hey... Where do you know that girl from? She just looks so familiar. Gosh. You can't put your finger on it. It's okay. I'll do it for you.

That woman you see standing aside the lovely Trish Stratus is Beth Phoenix. Having spent years on the indy scene, and just recently spending quite a bit of time in OVW, Beth seems to have finally burst on to the WWE scene, and she is doing awesome. I always find it exciting to watch the indy stars grow. For example, we have a few Beth Phoenix matches from her very late indy years against Allison Danger and my favorite, Mischif. I think it's great that fans can go back and see their favorite current superstars on ClickWrestle before they were bigtime. There are so many that you can see too, Samoa Joe, Chris Daniels, Crash Holly (Erin o'grady).. And of course, tons more. I'll try to keep you all updated on the CW indy stars that go on to TNA or WWE.

As for the next Kezar/Chickfight show.. Well. How exciting that the next one is coming up so soon! The footage from these shows is always amazing, and I can't wait to see what Chris does with his robotic arm. Though I can only hope he gets some actual sunlight before before the show. Poor boy.

Who needs the sun when we have computers

So the plan for today's blog was to show a screenshot of this awesome robotic arm interface Chris is creating for the ChickFight 4 DVD.

Instead, it turned out looking like the poor boy is getting blinded by some unnatural burst of light created by an evil Dell LCD monitor.

You will have to take my word for it, the robotic arm is very cool and Chris has promised to stay glued to his chair all weekend in order to get the footage done by ChickFight5 next week in San Francisco.

Speaking of ChickFight, we took a trip out to lovely Haight Ashbury today to scout the location and work out last minute details with the venue today. I still get chills the first time I walk into Kezar Pavilion. The building has so much history and it is great APW is able to have a new home in San Francisco.

Bryan held down the fort while we were gone and I'm sure he made a Sparks and Redline run for a long Friday night of editing wrestling footage.

It's no secret that we have the hardest working production team in pro wrestling here at Black Pants, but what you may not know is about the magic juice that keeps them going on those long nights of post editing.

At a recent APW show, head ref Kristina turned us on to an energy drink called "Redline". Imagine RedBull times 20 with a pretty scary warning label and you get an idea of what this stuff does. Anyway, as you can see, our mini fridge is stocked with the stuff and sometimes I wonder if Redline and Starbucks is the best meal for our guys to have each day, but the results speak for themselves. Check out some of the awesome ChickFight 4 previews and the many new matches that are currently live. It's amazing what the team can produce and how we can release a new match every day, even when partying in Vegas for CAC (but that's another story).

Long live Redline! How about a sponsorship, eh?

It's Shimmer time once again

Once again it's time for Shimmer. Shimmer Volume 3 is now being released, and you can look forward to it hitting the ClickWrestle front page in the very near future. Old favorites like Cheerleader Melissa and MsChif meet up with new comers to the roster such as Rebecca Knox and Lorelei Lee.

You can expect all of the same quality from Shimmer as before, fantastic footage. wonderful wrestling and beautiful women. In my personal opinion, you should all be sure to check out the illustrious Rebecca Knox. She's quite the mischevious little devil, and the match that she has against Allison Danger will show you just how tricky (and skilled) she can be.

Still don't believe me? Well check her out before her next release, then. We have some old chickfight footage of her against Morgan (who was a little, uhm, unsupported during this match) or against japanese legend, Mariko Yoshida.

Recently the fine folks from IWA-MS sent us in a nice little batch of footage. The matches range from gory (Madman Pondo vs. JC Bailey in a death match!) to CM Punk vs. AJ Styles to matches featuring some great female wrestlers such as MsChif, Allison Danger, and Mickey Knuckles.

A predominant theme in the coming matches, though, is Mickey Knuckles. Knuckles has been taken under the wing of IWA-MS owner Ian Rotten, and has been trained to wrestle in his same brutal style. Mickey takes a lot of pride in her wrestling, and in her business. She isn't your everyday WWE Diva, and she prides herself in it. You can see her in the upcoming footage, or go ahead and check her out in some of the existing ChickFight 3 footage that we have on ClickWrestle. She made it all of the way to the final round where she faced off against the infamous Mariko Yoshida.

So you all keep your eyes open for Mickey. As for me? I'll be steadfastly avoiding any nature scenes. Let's just say that Egg updates are ending, now.

So Chris did it again.. He made a very cool preview for all of the Chickfight matches. I told him I would be blogging about his greatness, and I'd like to take a picture of him.. and he proceeded to act like a girl about getting his picture taken. So I took the super-sneaky photo you see above. Ah hah.. Fillet o' feeesh.

Anyhow, Chris made the ChickFight 4 preview that was released today. It's awesome, and has a super creepy finale. You should all watch it and salivate as you wait for the actual matches to release. It was the best ChickFight to date.

So I may have been a little impatient at work on Friday, but it's been busy enough around here for the past two days to keep me occupied, so I am pleased. Recently I have been working less with actual footage, and more with clientelle and customers. This is a change that I like. I love talking to people, I love solving problems. I get to play hero. It's fun.
I have been working on SOME footage, though. I've been cutting and editing the Kezar show, which has been a lot of fun as well. We had 5 cameras shooting the San Francisco Kezar show, and it's been a real learning experience. I have so much to work with that I have the ability to be a lot more choosey about the cuts I make. It's wonderful.. It's so, so pretty. I get to watch this 3-way match with Melissa, MsChif, and Mercedes in 5 angles. You all should be very jealous.

It's a lonely day in the ClickWrestle offices today. Bryan? Sick. Chris? Day off. BossMan? Well.. I am never quite sure what BossMan is up to. So today it's just me and a couple people from a seperate business in the office. And while I generally like the work environment to be a little less crowded, the fact that today is Friday makes this a little harder on me. I want to goooo... I want to play.. I want to run around on the beaches of Santa Monica. Alas.

Instead? I am working on getting more footage providers. (aww, man.. One of the guys from the other company is leaving, too, now! Bah!) While I am sure Indy Wrestling Promotions across the nation understand the whole nationwide coverage/income deal, I don't think they have business on their mind, either. They all want to play on the beaches of Santa Monica as well.

Oh my god. The last employee just left. What am I doing here? Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Egg

Perhaps Egg was as worried about Momma Pigeon as I was, after seeing the state of Something Else Completely (formerly Unfortunate Pigeon) and Other Egg, and has fled the nest... Or perhaps Momma Pigeon has struck again. I can't tell yet. All I know is that Egg is now about a foot away from the nest, and has little tiny cracks in him, as you can see in the photo. I fear egg is either dead (dying?) after a mishap with Momma Pigeon, or perhaps Egg is hatching? Let's hope for the latter. 100% mortality rate is just too much, folks.

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.. Dude.

..but I can't seem to avoid noticing one of APW's top wrestler's physiques lately. Former All Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, Kafu, wrestled the ECW Hardcore Legend, The SandMan, this Past Saturday at Kezar in San Francisco.

Kafu, while a little insane, has made some vast improvements as of late. His wrestling, his passion, and what I noticed the most this past Saturday, his looks! He has really stepped up and taken care of himself. Check out Kafu 2/3 years ago:

Look at the improvement! In any case.. I'm thinking you should all keep your eye on this Indy star. I am betting he is going to be a pretty big deal one day soon. Even if he is one crazy dude.. The Brazilian Beast (Beef?) is definitely going to move on up.

Ah ha! And now it is time for those reviews I promised. I am a woman of my word. ;)

ChickFight numbero quatro. How exciting these female shows are. There is a whole different atmosphere. During the opening round Mercedes Martinez defeated Carla Jade, Cheerleader Melissa defeated Rain, MsChif defeated Candice LaRae, and Lacey defeated Hailey Hatred. These four matches were good. Some were a bit short for my liking. I really would of liked to see Candice LaRae get a little more play. I hear she isn't half bad, but she just didn't have a chance against my pick of the night, MsChif.

In the Semi-Final round of ChickFight 4, there was Mercedes versus Melissa and MsChif versus Lacey. While MsChif is still my strong favorite of the show, Melissa and Mercedes really put on the match of the night during this round. These girls did not hold back at all. Every punch, every kick, everything they did hit home and HARD. How either of them managed to wrestle again after this match, I do not know. I saw both of these women back-stage after the show and they were completely covered in the most grotesque bruises. If I ever had any doubts about whether or not wrestling was real or not, they completely vacated my mind after seeing those girls post-match. These women really beat the snot out of eachother.

And as the Final Round of ChickFight 4, we see MsChif take on Mercedes Martinez. This was a fantastic match. I loved it, but I have a small reservation. I feel like if these women weren't so broken and bruised, there could of been an even better match. I often feel this way after tournaments, though. I will think about how fantastic a match is, but then thing.. "Wow! It would of been even BETTER if these girls didn't just completely exhaust themselves twice before this match ever took place today!" Tournament style or no, this match was great.. There was a few unexpected events that took place during the match, but it all made everything even better. In the end? Well.. Never go against my picks. ;)

And last, but certainly not least... There were Zombies.. Oh yes. There were zombies. Bwa haha!

Never put all of your eggs in one basket.. Especially this basket.

Ahh.. After a long weekend that included a holiday and a huge show, I am sure you are all just chomping at the bit for a review.. Well. I am going to make you all wait for it. Bwa-ha-ha. Honestly, I still need time to digest all that happened on Saturday. It was so huge. 2 big bad shows that we have been working on for so long now. It's amazing to me that not so long ago I was calling venue after venue trying to help BossMan nail down a location. Look how far that progressed? It's a lot of fun to see a project through. I feel pretty good about that.

So.. Since I am not going to leave you with a review, I will leave you with a few of my favorite photos, and a quick word about the pigeons.

I just want to say.. This whole nature-watching pigeon baby experience is really starting to get me down. I scared off Momma Pigeon today in order to check out the eggs. Unfortunate Pigeon is still there, but appears to be turning in to something else completely. I look at the eggs.. and it's not eggs anymore. It's egg. Where did other-egg go?! What is Momma Pigeon doing? So now it's just Egg and Momma Pigeon. Other Egg is gone.. forever? Where could Other Egg have gone? He is not in the vicinity. I know Other Egg couldn't of just taken off. I think Momma Pigeon sold Other Egg on the black market. I fear for Egg's life. Will Egg turn out like Other Egg and Unfortunate Pigeon? What a motley crew this is..

So, while I am very excited about the whole day on Saturday.. I must admit that I do have a special place in my heart for ChickFight. Being a strong supporter of women's issues, and a bit of a feminist, I always find it exciting when an all female event takes place in a male dominated realm. When it is an event like ChickFight, where the women are presented as strong, capable, athletic, and smart rather than the more prevaliant bimbo eye-candy, it's something I truely get inspired by.

I thought I'd talk a little about the contestants of ChickFight today, I'll go in order of the pictures descending the right side of this column. First off we have the lovely, if ill-tempered, Rain. Rain has competed in one prior ChickFight, the last one in fact. She faced off against Mariko Yoshida, who promptly turned Rain's knew only pain. Rain didn't have much of a world into a place that showing at that event, so I am hoping I get to see a little bit more from her this time around.

Next we have MsChif. MsChif has really caught my eye recently. Beyond her passion and rage, she is backed by amazing flexibility and tremendous athletic ability. I have seen this woman in some amazing matches against some great wrestlers. She wrestled in a cage match versus Mickey Knuckles that was absolutely brutal. In the recent past she wrestled Cheerleader Melissa at Shimmer, the two of them tore each other apart. MsChif is definately a favorite of mine coming in to this tournament.

Mercedes Martinez is our next competitor. She is a powerhouse. Her style of wrestling can be likened to those such as Sara Del Ray, the amazing women Japanese Wrestling like Ninja Ranmaru or Drake Morimatsu. This latina is definately a force to be reckoned with, and I wouldn't be surprised to see her leaving this tournament with a victory.

Melissa is a ClickWrestle.com favorite and has competed in all 3 prior
ChickFight tournaments. Coming in to the finals at the first two, and timing out in a battle against Sara Del Ray at the last. I am interested to see what will happen with her at the end of this bout.

Lacey! I am also very excited about this competitor.
Lacey has been a growing favorite of mine as well.
Probably my 2nd favorite wrestler in the tournament, in fact. Lacey has a lot of attitude, but some great skills in the ring too. I'd be a happy camper seeing Lacey win this ChickFight.

Lastly we have Carla Jade and Candace La Rae. I don't know entirely too much about either of these wrestlers, as I haven't seen much work from either of them. Candace La Rae is a nice little Canadian chica who had participated in ChickFight 1, she quickly was eliminated from the tournament, having had the unfortunate luck of running in to Princess Sugey, ChickFight 1 champion, during the first round. Either of these girls might just have something up their sleeves, but I don't know enough to make any predictions.

So who do I think will win? Well.. My money is on MsChif at this point. She is my favorite, and I'll stick with her. As far as other predictions for Saturday? Well.. I predict that Bryan will be staying clear of the cage during Kafu's match versus the Sandman. That's one cage he wont want to be locked in.

Much ado about something; Twelve thousand raindrops in every ocean.

So I have been talking about this Kezar Show for weeks now. I figure it's time to give you all the low-down on what's what. Here in San Francisco, we will be holding the 4th ever ChickFight tournament and also one more huge mixed-gender show on Saturday.

With two shows in one day, there is a ton going on. The Chickfight show will have 8 of the nation's worthiest female wrestlers competing, including ClickWrestle favorites like Melissa, MsChif, Hailey Hatred, and Mercedes Martinez.

The night time will be your classic All Pro Wrestling show, amplified ten times over. We will be having the ECW Hardcore Legend, The Sandman, take on our own former Universal HeavyWeight Champion, Kafu in a steel cage. Ahh.. The gore that will follow!

And it's all only ten bucks. Not too shabby, eh? Everyone should come! Carpool. Call your neighbors. Bring people who don't even like wrestling.. They can always watch our Undead Zombie Burlesque Dancers (who are worth way more than just ten bucks in themselves.) gyrate their much decayed hips and feast on the blood (brains) of innocents.

Miss Congeniality

This little lady managed to pop up on www.ClickWrestle.com's front page twice today, so I thought I'd go ahead and talk about her in the blog, too. Make it a nice little tri-fecta. So, here we have "The Well Rounded" Christie Ricci. She is featured in the match of the day and had a new match released just yesterday.

Ricci, who was a tomboy growing up, found her softer side as a teen and started competing in beauty pageants. She gained the title of Miss Teen Tennessee and competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Her history in pageantry no doubt leads to her current nick-name in the ring, the Mississippi Queen. In any case, Christie is a great wrestler and I encourage you all to watch her matches. (On a side note.. she has the spiffiest little kneepad/boot cover things. Very cool.)

Other news? If you open up today's issue of the SF Guardian to page 39 you will see APW's Derek Sanders posing with his APW Universal HeavyWeight title and Melissa putting Sara Del Ray in to an inverted Texas cloverleaf submission. How neat is that? On top of that you'll see a little spot pimpin' out this Saturday's show at the Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco. Come check it out! All your favorite female wrestlers will be there, all of your favorite APW stars will be there, and even the ECW Hardcore Legend "The Sandman" will be there. Lastly.. Pigeons. Unfortunate Pigeon is still unfortunate. Momma pigeon is roosting so often that I havent been able to check on the eggs.. Hopefully her extra roosting will make up for the fact that she has shown such a lackluster performance up to this point.

Avian Flu - Doom.

So, I am going to stick away from the morbid pigeon stories today. Bossman gave me a good little scare though, something about the avian flu. I will try not to die.

I spent the day reviewing possible new footage carriers. A lot of new female stuff might be coming our way. A lot of smaller names, new faces. I hope it works out. It's always nice to see newer faces in wrestling.. Especially pretty ones like these girls.

In other news, there is a match coming out in the next few days that features Melissa versus a great Japanese wrestler, Drake Morimatsu. The match is fantastic, but that's not what I want you guys to look for. Check out the awesome match preview that our new employee, Chris, has made. It's really, really good. So keep your eyes open for that.

Speaking of Chris, I've come to a conclusion about him. Dude looks just like Crispin Glover. You know... Crispin Glover? From Charlies Angels? And Willard? Here. See for yourself.

Not all that shines is gold, so we'll stick to Shimmering

I come to you all today with mixed news. I have some good, and some bad. I'll start off with the good.

Shimmer! Yay, yay! Huzzah! Shimmer Volume two is finally being released on www.ClickWrestle.com. How exciting. All of our favorite American female wrestlers at each other's throats once more. I love the shimmer footage. The quality of the video alone is great. Such crisp pictures with ideal lighting. Yesterday's release was great, too.. A 4 way battle including Mercedes Martinez and Sara Del Ray. It was a great follow up to the match those two had at the prior event which concluded in a 20 minute draw. Those two women are so powerful. It's amazing to watch them in the ring.

Speaking of Mercedes, she'll be in town next week at the Kezar Pavilion when APW brings back ChickFight. If you are in the San Francisco area, definitely come check her out.

And now... The bad news. Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to admit something.. I may have been wrong. So, I have been pretty excited about this baby pigeon thing. The eggs, the cuteness, the maternal. Whatever. The guys in the office thought it was silly, but I was stoked. As it turns out, this fascination has turned south. Maybe pigeons really are dumb.

When I came to the office this morning, I glanced out the window to check on the pigeon-baby-egglings. I saw Momma Pigeon sitting in the nest. Good, right? Noon comes around, and momma Pigeon is still sitting in nest. Fine. I open the window so I can crawl out and take a picture, and Momma Pigeon takes off. What I see next is a sad, sad thing. First off. The eggs aren't there. Why? Where did they go? Second off.. the was another pigeon behind Momma Pigeon. We will call this pigeon Unfortunate Pigeon. Unfortunate Pigeon is in an uncomfortable position and isn't moving. It's safe to say that Unfortunate Pigeon might be deceased. Confused, I looked around. Where are the eggs? Oh. There they are. Lying in a puddle of water, having fallen from the nest. (about a 6 inch fall) Momma Pigeon is either a mass murderer, or just doing very poorly and the whole "momma" thing. In any case. I felt a little bad, so I plucked up the eggs and put them back in the nest, hoping they aren't too damaged. Yes. I put the water-logged egglettes next to Unfortunate pigeon. We'll see what happens, but I am definitely under-whelmed with the whole maternal pigeon process. Stupid birds.

The moral of the story? There are 2. First: Don't pay too much attention to wild-life. It's morbid. Second: Come watch Mercedes! This Saturday!

Ahh. Spring is here, and we have many new arrivals at the office. 3 to be exact. No, Bryan isn't pregnant, and I haven't had any babies. I'll elaborate. Let me start off by sharing with you all the most notable new arrival; Chris.

As I mentioned before, we have a new employee. Chris has jumped right in to things here at the office. At the moment he is currently making a preview for an upcoming match between Melissa and Drake Morimatsu. It's fantastic. He's going to be a great addition to the office. Chris is a nice kid, who allows me to photograph him and plaster him upon the internet.. So he's alright in my book.

And the other 2 new arrivals at the office? Pidgeons! Yay! The boys of the office think I am nuts, but I am rather excited. In the office we have a little window that peeks in to a crevice in the building. There is nothing really to look at. The fact that there is a window in that location is a little confounding in the first place, but there it is. There has always been pidgeons hanging out there, they sort of sleep and hang out. Never mind the fact that someone had plopped an owl statue out there to try to scare them away. I always look out there and sort of space out when I need a break from wrestling. Yesterday I noticed there were two little tiny itty bitty pidgeon eggs. Brand new babies! How fun! So I am going to keep track of the babies, take pictures, and give you all updates.

Probably not the most exciting thing for you wrasslin' fans.. But this isn't a wrasslin' blog. This is ClickWrestle behind-the-scenes. And behind-the-scenes of ClickWrestle is a geeky gal who thinks the new pidgeon eggs are almost as exciting as the upcoming zombie-queen go go dancers.

The company that has founded ClickWrestle.com, BlackPants inc., has teamed up with All Pro Wrestling to put on a wrestling show on April 15th at the Kezar stadium in San Francisco. A large part of my job for the past two days has been to find some entertainment for the half-time show. And here they are... The Living Dead Girlz.

If you haven't seen them before, you should check them out. They are pretty awesome. Think Go-Go Dancers.. With an obscene twist. It's fantastic. What could be better than a bunch of hot, undead zombie dancers after brains and blood?

The 21st century Fox

So, there is a new lady on the scene. She goes by "The 21st century Fox". I had seen her name floating around a bit starting a few months ago. She joined up on www.glorywrestling.com and I started taking notice to her.

This morning Bossman walked in with an armful of tapes and said, "Here, new content provider" and sort of stumbled out into the freezing depths of our offices. I checked it out, and it looks like we are going to start carrying footage from the Pure Wrestling Association. PWA is a promotion in Ontario, Canada and they just happen to have 21st century Fox on their roster. After reviewing the footage, I was finally able to see her wrestle. She's not bad! In the 2 matches I saw her in, she was facing off against ClickWrestle favorite, Melissa. These matches should be online soon, and I encourage you all to check 'em out.

In other news, it looks like we have a new employee here at the ClickWrestle offices. How exciting. I wonder if he will be as full of charm as the lovely Bryan. More-over, I wonder how I can eventually lock him in a cage? Hmm...

Bryan is out of the office today, which means I am spending the first day in my new office alone. I must admit.. Excellence. There are a few things I wasn't expecting when I heard about the new office. They are all good things so far. For example.. It's widely known that I am the coffee-mule around these parts. My last office's closest starbucks trip took about 20 minutes round trip. This office has a Starbucks that is much, much closer bringing my Starbucks trip down to like 8 minutes. Sweet.

Also, since Bryan is out, I sort of have full reign of my little office. It's a dark, moody little room full of video equipment and computers and generic light. I love it. My biggest complaint yesterday was that it was fr-fr-freeeeezing. Well, since I am all alone, I put the space heater under my desk, and closed my doors. The room heated up in no time at all. It's toasty now. I have old APW footage capturing in the corner, and the volume is up and I don't have to worry about bugging the other people in the office because I have my own(ish) room! I feel like a teenage girl again.

It's beginning to feel a bit like Christmas. (Why is it so cold?!)

New office. It's got it's ups and downs so far. For example. At the moment it's probably about 4 degrees in the office that Bryan and I share. Definately a downside. On the plus side: There is a sweet arcade right next door with 8 different pin-ball games. INCLUDING Adams Family. It doesn't get much better than that. (Unless you account for the old school Dungeuns and Dragon's game.) The area is nice though.. There is this little back alley with some trendy bars and some really yummy-smelling restaurants. Lots of food in the area. I had some sort of roasted chicken for lunch today that was excellent.

All of the equipment is set up. Looks like we will be back in the swing of things in no time. Bryan and I wandered the hardware store like two lost puppies today, looking for little things we need to tie the office together. It was a pretty sad little affair. I looked at the lady behind the counter with my best "please save me" look and she found the extremely expensive light bulbs I needed. Then I wandered over to the loose screws and nails section and sort of fumbled around. I came out with 2 fistfulls of screws and wall anchors when Bryan had to turn me around and show me the little baggies and information section you had to fill out. It was like a tiny ikea. I got out of there without losing any limbs. I am a lucky girl.

Parting is such sweet, sweet sorrow.

Today is moving day. Goodbye to the cage, goodbye to walking in to a pitch black office every morning and stumbling to find a light switch. Goodbye to the freezing cold atmosphere that is maintained to keep the server happy. Goodbye to the yummy italian place on the corner with the super-hot bartender. Goodbye to Alex at the Soup Company who greets me so warmly every morning. Goodbye to the russian guy at Subway who gets confused when he asks me "Cheese?" and I say "Shredded" 3 times a week, every time. Goodbye to the Saxophone player on the corner who plays "My Funny Valentine" every time he spots me coming down the road. Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.

And hello? To what? I am not too sure yet. New office. I hear it used to be pink. Bossman wouldn't stand for it though. Alas. I'll let you all know how the move goes. Angel Williams

When I opened up my browser to check out clickwrestle's newest featured match of the day I saw a picture of a woman with Daizee Haze's legs so completely wrapped around her head, that I couldn't figure out who she was. (Bryan clearly made that screen shot.) I looked at her gear and body and thought that it was perhaps Lacey. A quick glance at the title of the featured match told me that was not so. "Mercedes Martinez and Angel Williams vs. Daizee Haze and Mickie Knuckles" Angel Williams? Who is Angel Williams? I decided to do a little studying.

Angel Williams seems to have been trained by Rob Fuego. She appears to have a developmental contract with the WWE and is working for Deep South Wrestling. Very cool, eh? Be sure to check out her, and this match, today. =)

Back to work! While there was a nice little break on Thursday and Friday for our graphics training, it is over now. So the went the weekend. Break time is so fleeting.

Today Bryan and I started working on a few new formats for our upcoming previews. Trying to keep it cohesive. I got new UWF footage, which looks pretty awesome. There is a casket match with Abyss and Sabu (Who else?), and even a midget match. Sweet. Little people are the best.

I am hearing murmers in the hall of some pretty impressive female footage coming in, so keep your eyes open, kids. Looks like there is some great stuff on the way. Plus, if you are looking for some great stuff we already have, check out the MPT versus JJ Perez match that just released. That match comes to you free from APW and took place only 1 month ago. How awesome is that?

Second day of Photoshop bootcamp today. "Dave is really cool. He's a super-cool teacher!" He asks me to report. I guess it's true. What other teacher do I get to hear have conversations on his cell phone about surfing? In the middle of winter? Yea. Come on. He's clearly a cool guy.

If anyone has been watching, you will have seen that the Sara vs. Melissa falls count anywhere preview has changed a few times. We've been tweaking it here at the office, trying to get it just right. It's currently on version three, which has a lot more clips from the match in it. Check it out.. I haven't made 15 versions of this thing for nothing. ;)

Hey guys. So bossman sprung for a little graphics arts training for the office. Today and Tomorrow we have PhotoShop bootcamp. We are going over the basics for now, and while it's redundant at times, there is a lot of cool stuff I totally forgot about. I found new ways to utilize simple tools. Our Teacher, an awesome guy named Dave, spent the day in front of the company alternately training and rave-dancing. All in all, a very amusing day.

And what did I accomplish? Well.. BossMan thinks I am a little morbid now, but check it out.

I can't believe that the featured match today, Melissa versus Jaqueline, took place nearly a year ago.. Seems like only yesterday. It was a wonderful match, and everyone knows that both of those women are great workers, so I don't have too much to say about it. I'll just leave you off with this nice little picture to look at while I update you all on what's going on around the office.

Just yesterday my lovely cherub of a coworker turned around every preview we have here on CW and gave it a quicktime counterpart. Good work on his part. I finished up a little bit of WWWA footage recently, so that will be coming out soon. In fact, it looks like they have decided they want to put a few promotional videos out as well for free streaming on ClickWrestle. Free is always good!

We're moving out of the cage, soon. =( We have a new office, and that means I can't pull any more lock-Bryan-in-the-cage type capers. I'll figure something out though.. the office has a little trap window in one of the walls.. Hmm.

Sara Del Ray

Today's feature match is a match that has Sara Del Ray during her early days as "Nikki". I remember watching the early matches of Sara, even when she was very new to wrestling and still training she had such great potential. And while she was beautiful and very talented then, I had no idea just how good of a wrestler she would grow to be.

You can see some of her more recent stuff featured in Shimmer and APW. (I'd link you to the shimmer website, but the picture on the front page is not de-interlaced and it makes me sad to look at it.. Fine, fine.. Here's the link! Just don't look directly at that photo.) She is really a power house, the training she has recieved at the Inoki Dojo really did her very well. Her matches against Mercedes Martinez (featured on ClickWrestle) and Melissa (also on ClickWrestle!)

Definately, definately check it out.. And some web designer needs to write to me so I can set up her getting a web page.. She is so talented! I can't believe she doesn't have a web page!

Tito Aquino vs. JJ Perez

A tad later than I expected, but that free match I mentioned on Friday came out this morning! All Pro Wrestling pulls through again with a freebie. =) In this match you see the very long-standing champion, JJ Perez, take on a newcomer to the ranks of All Pro Wrestling, Tito Aquino.

Tito is a short, stout wrestler. He resembles Tazz a bit in that way, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in aggression. He is a little fireball.. Definately check out the match today if you haven't seen him wrestle before.

So, non work related.. I watched Final Destination over the weekend. Ew. That's all I have to say. Ew ew ew. Never.. tanning.. again.

Pinoy Boy

This morning's release features Pinoy Boy versus Sean Stryker. Pinoy Boy seems like any small-time indy kid in this match, but boy is that not true. Pinoy Boy is known as TJ Perkins these days. It just so happens that TJ has come quite a ways since 2001, when the match that was released today occured. In fact.. If you were in the Southern California area during this past December, you could of dropped on by to Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and seen good ol' "Pinoy Boy" wrestle Christopher Daniels!

It's hard to believe that just 5 years ago, TJ Perkins was wrestling the "Sean Stryker"s of the world, and has moved up to wrestling one of the most well-known names in Professional Wrestling today. Awesome work, Perkins! Keep it up.. And everyone else? See Puma before his prime in todays match!

There were quite a few different ideas in my head when I started blogging today. First, I thought I'd talk a little bit about our first release today, a free streaming APW internet title match. Free matches, doesn't get much better than that, right? Well then I saw the featured match of the day, featuring Allison Danger against the deadly Mschif. I thought I would tell you all that we have a dozen Mschif matches on ClickWrestle, so if you haven't seen her.. Do it NOW! But then a thought came into my mind, and it pushed all of those ideas out.

MsChif versus Mariko Yoshida. Two of the most brutal female wrestlers, world wide. Could you imagine the carnage? The flexibility, skill, passion, and rage that both of those women possess is unsurpassed. I know it's highly unlikely.. Mariko Yoshida spending a good 98% of her time in Japan, and I don't think I've seen MsChif on this coast.. But boy, a gal can dream can't she?

Adobe Premiere 2.0

Keeping up with the software in video editing is proving to be a bit of an annoyance at the moment. Adobe Premiere 2.0 is supposed to have a multi-camera editing tool that rocks. It's supposed to be able to keep up with the newest version of final cut pro. That is.. if I can get it to function. I've been wrestling with the multi-cam feature all day.. it's wearing me out.

The featured match of the day today is Immortal Fear versus The Mafia versus Girls Gone Wrestling versus All Pro Rangers, a match brought to us by APW. At the time of this match Immortal Fear was yet to be split, and they were regularly escorted to the ring with their valet, Payton. Immortal Fear was the reigning Tag Team Champions for over half a year. Payton was quite fond of the titles, as you can see in the photo. At that time, Payton had quite a bit of a chip on her shoulder, and she didn't seem to care much for anyone but Immortal Fear.

Time has passed, the team that was known as Immortal Fear has split, and everyone has gone their own ways, including Payton. These days Payton seems to be quite a bit friendlier, and has gotten especially friendly with the current HeavyWeight Champion, Derek Sanders. 3 Weeks ago Derek happened upon the tag team titles. This might just be a coincidence, but it seems like after he got the titles she got really sweet on him. It could be that Derek had helped her out with a few guy troubles with her former guy, Billy Blade... But I think this tag team title thing is just a little too serendipitous. Has Derek caught a bit of a gold-digger? I dunno...

Space Jams; I believe I can fly

Amongst the other tedious tasks I come across on a daily basis, I think file transfers are about as high up on the annoyance scale as rendering is. I say this because today as I edit Fergal Devitt verus JJ Perez I keep running in to Space Jams. No, not the movie. I keep running out of space on my drives. AVI files are disgustingly huge. The average uncompressed match takes up about 7-8 gigs of hard drive space. Even though we have over a thousand gigs worth of hard drive space here in the office, I still find that it's not always enough. Saying that out loud makes the whole thing seem ridiculous. There should be enough room! Perhaps the problem is that it's not continual hard drive space, it's sectioned up into 10 or so different drives.

So as the files transfer ever so slowly, I take the time to look over my small unfinished projects and bring them to conclusion. I finished up mid-2005 APW matches I had been meaning to get to for the past 2 weeks or so, dusted off some IWC matches and shined them up, stuck those on line. And, most excitingly, started looking for new content providers. I got a list of about 30 or so companys I am going to contact in the next few days to see if they'd like to put their footage on clickwrestle. I made it through the weekend, impressed? Here I am today, to report back to you, constant reader. On Saturday I had an APW show where, yay!, Fergal Devitt finally showed up. He turned out to be a fantastic wrestler, with an amazing physique and wonderful technical abilities. But I am not here to talk about his wrestling, no matter how excellent it might be. I am here to talk about his odd resemblance of one of my favorite comedians, Eddie Izzard. Here, look at these photos:

Finally! The secret is out. ClickWrestle is glad to announce that we will now be carrying matches from Dave Hebner's new promotion, the United Wrestling Federation! We are now carrying their first two shows from the Buckle Up! tour of 2006. The first show's date was 1/13/06! That's less than a month ago. There are a ton of great stars in this footage, including Al Snow, Shannon Moore, The James Gang, Spike Dudley, The Dudley Brothers, Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles, plus so many more.

Dressing for success.. (Or is that dressing LESS for success?)

For those of you that didn't know, I'll let you all know a little something about me. I fancy myself a seamstress. In fact, I made a wrestling gear for a short period of time. So now when I watch wrestling, I do find myself a bit distracted from the actual wrestling and pay a bit more attention to what the wrestlers are wearing. Okay, I'll admit it. There are times when I think that I may not be able to continue watching a match when the wrestler has a major outfit flaw. For example, there was a time that one of the wrestlers at APW, who shall remain nameless (coughinternetchampcough!), came out to the ring in trunks and a tanktop. With the tank top tucked into his trunks. Tucked. That's right, Tucked.

In any case, I thought I would point out today's new release. It stars Shantelle Taylor versus Tiana Ringer. Now, the wrestling was good, but I thought I'd make it a point to point out who I thought had the best gear in the whole Shimmer show.. and that would be Shantelle Taylor. And why do I think she has the best gear? Well, let's see..

Bikini Cut: Good.
Criss-Cross Straps: Very good.
Studded accents: Excellent
Matching bracers: Check!
Skull and Crossbone buckle: Adorable
Less is more? Indeed.

However, honorable mentions go to Christie Ricci for her great knee-boot covers, and Sara Del Ray because I am a sucker for camo.

Also, that exciting new footage is just about done! It should be coming your way very soon. And one last thing, good ol' Bryan pointed something out to me today. One of our wrestlers, and past HeavyWeight champion, Kafu appears to have a history of family in wrestling..

What do you guys think, don't they look alike? Heh! The man on the left is actually Chin Lee, he wrestled in the early seventies with Suki Sito. Boy, they do look alike though. Maybe Kafu isn't Brazilian after all.

Yesterday morning we had another Shimmer Release! Team Blondage, Krissy Vaine and Amber Oneal, takes on Cindy Rogers and Nikki Roxx. Of the four women in this match, I have to say I was most intrigued to see Krissy Vaine in action.

Cindy Rogers I have seen in multiple matches, as well as Nikki Roxx. I pretty much have made up my mind about those two, but the other two women I had still yet to make my opinion on. I had never seen Amber O'neal before, but I had seen one match involving Krissy Vaine before. She seemed to be a decent worker, and she had a certain attitude about her. In any case, I think I paid the most attention to Krissy when watching this match.

Krissy and her partner came off pretty prissy in this match, not quite the spunky gal she was in the match I had seen her in prior. However, before that could put me too far off with her attitude, she FINALLY got in the ring, and I got to see her in action. She may be prissy with her looks, but once in the ring, she is brutal. You guys definitely check that match out.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Hey kids! I am back after a short/forgetful absence. There has been a lot going around at the office, it's made my blog sort of fall to the wayside. My apologies! I'll try to stay more on top of this thing.

Today I finished a very fun trailer for the Sara Del Ray/Cheerleader Melissa match that took place on the Bakersfield show I worked two weekends ago. I have been getting some training so hopefully my trailers will be getting better and better. Keep your eye open for this match, I am pretty proud of the trailer. =) As well as finishing that trailer, I also finished the editing for all but one of the matches from that show. Multi-Camera editing can be a bit of a pain, but I think I prefer it over live switching.. This way I always know I am getting the best shot, not whatever someone else thinks is the best shot.

Also! I want to let you know that there is some VERY exciting new footage that will be coming to ClickWrestle.com soon. There are some huge names in this stuff. You guys will love it. =)

It's getting plain.. I'll try not to complain.

I survived my weekend, and I return to you all with 75% less snot. How's that for results? The show went smoothly! Unfortunately Mr. Devitt couldn't show up. Darn. There goes my test on Irish Wrestlers. Oh well.

I decided to take on a side project today. I made up a banner for Clickwrestle. I sent it in to BossMan who seemed to like it, but sent me to someone for a little refining. He is slowly trying to teach me that less is more. Perhaps I'll learn that lesson soon. I am trying, just need a few more spoonfuls of sugar to help that medicine go down.

And lastly I found a wonderful new filter today. I have been working with the old IWC footage, which can tend to be a little dark, and I found the lovely little Shadow/Highlight filter. It's nuts.. Look at the difference:

Of course, the shot on the bottom is after the filter. It's a little grainy, but atleast you can SEE the picture. (And who is that guy? Well, that's Skate Devil. The IWC Hardcore Champion as of April 20th 2001. You can catch a few of his matches that are already on CW, and look out for some more than are coming in the coming months.) I like this filter a lot more than the Brightness/Contrast filter. A lot more brightness without the gray-out.

We have a lot of IWC footage, so I will get a lot of practice working with less-than-optimal film. I'll let you all know if I find any more fun little tools.

Much like Dane Cook's cashew, I find myself flung into the weekend. Tomorrow I have another APW show planned, and I think I am all but physically ready for it. My body is throwing a small hissy fit. I am all congested and stuffy and sore.. "Stop abusing me!", my body pleads, "I need sleep!". Then, when I refuse it, it turns on me and leaves me stuffy and miserable. Alas. Et tu, Body.

Tomorrow should be a good show though, mucus filled or not. Fergal Devitt will be challenging the APW Internet Champion, JJ Perez. I have never seen Fergal wrestle before, but I hear he is pretty big in Europe. Plus.. He's Irish! You can't go wrong with irish wrestlers. I mean.. Look at Rebecca Knox, she is gorgeous and a great wrestler. (A sweetheart to boot.) And actually, from what I hear, Fergal actually trained Knox. So.. Huzzah. Can't wait for the show tomorrow. And of course, this footage will be hitting you soon as well! =)

Crunched with the Daizie idea for a little longer today.. It has evolved quite a bit. I don't know. It's hard to say what is good and what isn't. It's all rather subjective. I am lucky enough to have quite a bit of help from a good friend from Pixel Perfect.

Yesterday I was so caught up in ideas for new Shimmer previews, I completely forgot to blog! So today? Two blogs! That's right. Two. Can you take it? I don't know if ~I~ can.

So yesterday I was working on an idea I had for a preview.. I am not sure it will work out, still, but it's an idea. I wanted to have a couple consecutive shots of the wrestler, Daizee Haze in this case, have them come in, fade to a silhouette, and then have the main shot, and her name would float in to introduce her. So I started with the shots.. here is how they progressed:

Anyhow.. I tried a couple different executions. It's tough. Bossman thinks there needs to be a sharp hard-hitting high impact quality to the previews we make, because it's wrestling. I do agree. But I also know that with female wrestling, there is a bit of a different feel to it. A lot of fans watch because it IS women wrestling. They want so see the women, what they look like, are interested in who they are.. etc. It's not quite as fierce as male wrestling. The silhouette idea is naturally a little slower, maybe it would work because they are female? I don't know. I suppose I'll play around with the idea some more.

There is a local indy wrestler we have here in California, he works for APW and a few other feds nearby. His name is Sean Pulver He is a flamboyant character that likes to keep his opponents guessing with his over the top antics. (More on that in a moment.) I was just capturing one of his matches from about half a year ago and it dawned on me that he stopped one of my favorite tactics of his..

I mentioned yesterday that I work for APW in productions; well, one of my main jobs is DJing the shows. Sean and I have been friends for a while, and Sean is a pretty clever cat (kitten?). One day he got the idea that he could use my position and friendship to his advantage during his matches. He approached me and asked if I could do him a little favor. He asked me to have some music lined up for him during his match, and he showed me a special signal he would use during the match to signify that I should start playing the music. No problem! It's my sound station, I say what music gets out there, if my friend needs a little uplifting music to get him through a match, no problem.

The first night he asked me to do this, Sean was in a match against Vennis DeMarco. 5 minutes or so into his match, Sean wasn't doing very well. I don't like Vennis DeMarco much, but I'll admit he has his moments in the ring. Anyhow, Sean was losing his match at a rapid rate and he hurriedly gave me the signal. I hit the music, not knowing what to expect from Sean. He did something I didn't expect at all.. He started dancing! Vennis wasn't expecting it either, he just stared at Sean slack-jawed, unable to believe what he was seeing. What happened next, I couldn't believe. Sean was dancing, and somehow.. He was able to coax Vennis into dancing as well! Vennis went all out, arms flailing, doing those little kicks like Elaine from Seinfeld. I think Sean was hoping to distract Vince long enough to forget about the match, but unfortunately Vennis came to, and the match continued.

Sean and I played around with that for a while.. and I have to say.. there is nothing more amusing than when Sean can coax a big burly wrestler into dancing. Imagine YOUR favorite big, bad wrestler doing the tootsie roll... Priceless! I'll have to talk to Sean.. We have to start that up again. Of course he did have varying ranges of success with this... Check out the match Sean has with Kafu that is coming to ClickWrestle soon!

In other news, there is a disturbing trend occurring here at the office. I try to keep a little dish of candy out for the guys at the office. It started in September when I started here. I brought in a little Halloween dish, and I toted in some chocolate to fill it. The boxes changed with the holidays, and so did the candy. About 4 rotations ago I got starburst for the candybox. During Christmas, there was some Hershey's kisses put into the box. Recently I put a valentine's day mix of candy in. Today I noticed that we are running out, and that I will have to renew the stash because we are getting low. I dumped out the candy to see what was left, and to my dismay... I saw a starburst. How has is it lasted so long? Why wont anyone eat the last starburst? Is it doomed to watch generation after generation of candy pass by it? BRYAN! Eat the starburst!

...To go to a live wrestling show. I can't get away from this stuff. What is wrong with me?

Actually, I work at a independent federation called All Pro Wrestling. I help work production at their shows. On Saturday we had a show in Bakersfield, California. Upon entering the venue, I was more than a little dubious.

It appears that the most popular venue for rock shows in Bakersfield is a remodeled Montgomery's Ward. Seeing that, APW thought it would be a good idea to try the built in crowd out for a little wrestling show. When I stepped into the building, I saw a bunch of emo/goth/metal kids lounging around, setting up sound equipment for a show. They're all my age.. but I can't stop feeling SO much older than these guys. I am so out of the loop =/ Anyways.. They are all sitting around with their cookie cutter haircuts and hoodies, and I thought we were definitely not in the right place. I was then led to a VERY scary elevator, which led to a huge room full of discarded Montgomery Ward equiptment, furniture, garbage.. etc. It looked like a place where you would find Brad Pitt and Edward Norton duking it out. At this point I was ready to go home.

However, I was delighted when I saw the area where we'd be actually running the show. A very large area with plenty of room for a ring, the merchandise booth, and lots of seating. The production team slowly starting putting things together, and about 12 hours of work later, it looked like a wrestling show! Lights, camera, entrance, sound, ring, oooh, ahhh!

The show itself was awesome. Aside from the opening match, every match was entertaining and enjoyable. The fans were pumped to see Sandman take on the ex APW HeavyWeight Champ, Kafu, in a hardcore brawl. (Where I am pretty sure they got some weapons from that sketchy area I described earlier!) Sandman was kind enough to take some time out of his much crunched schedule to do some signings after the show, and fans were delighted. (Perhaps quite delighted in one case, check out this link where you can find the belt Sandman is signing for sale on Ebay. So much for sentimental value, eh?)

My personal favorite matches of the night was Derek Sanders vs. Mike Rapada and Sara Del Ray vs. Melissa. Derek took on Mike Rapada, a man who has been working in this business since Mullets were in style. They had a fantastic match that reminded very strongly of old school wrestling that you would of seen about 15 years ago. It's nice to know that people can still work a match without all of the glitz and glam. Melissa and Sara had a rematch from their ChickFight 3 match (which left off unresolved). They were both still quite furious with each other and they really tore into each other. When their match was said and done, it took 4 men to tear them away from each other in order to resume the show. Be sure to catch these one's when they show up on ClickWrestle in the weeks to come. =)

After all is said and done, I had a really good time. I hear we are going back to that venue in April.. Keep your eye on APW's website if you'd like to check out a show sometime!

Aww.. Look at at all of those pretty women. If you were to just pass by you might think you were looking at a group of spandex supermodels.. Maybe. But imagine, all these purty gals are talented wrestlers! I am pleased to announce that the much awaited (by me, anyways) Shimmer footage made it's way into my hands today. Yay!

I love what I have seen so far. Almost every female American wrestler worth their salt is in this batch of footage. I haven't seen everything yet, but so far MsChif and Melissa seem to REALLY stand out. MsChif is always fantastic, but Melissa seems to have really stepped it up in this match. She got fierce.. I can't wait until you guys get a chance to check it out. ~So!~ much good stuff in that match. For example, Melissa gets MsChif in an inverted texas cloverleaf and nearly folds MsChif in half, beating MsChif in the head with her own foot! Sick, Sick stuff! Check out this photo:

Chynna and Bryan, Indy Wrestling Detectives.

Today I have spent the day working on a variety of different matches. Anywhere from footage that is 20 years old, to stuff that was made just last year. Amongst the matches was a tag match with Christian and Edge before they were Christian and Edge! It was pretty neat to see them young and green. They were a decent tag team, even back then. Too often I see tag teams in the indy circuits with no actual tag moves, but "Christian Cage" and "Hardcastle" seemed to have their stuff together, and boy.. They didn't look much different then they do today.

About 15 minutes ago, I looked over at Bryan and asked what he thought I should blog about today. He thought I should tell you all about our secret occupation: Private Investigators. Bryan and I often find ourselves with a disc handed to us with 8 or so matches, and very little information given along with it. Wrestler names, championship titles, histories, match dates and promotion names are our main worries when we get this stuff. We'll usually get a promotion name, unless the footage is bought from a person who is already a retailer. Unfortunately, a lot of the time we don't get much more than that. That's when I break out my Sherlock Holmes smoking pipe, and Bryan puts on his little Watson-esque hat trench coat and we start digging up info for these guys. In these situations, google is our best friend. Places like www.glorywrestling.com and www.obsessedwithwrestling.com come in close seconds.

Things get easier with time, though. You start recognizing all of these indy wrestlers that will probably never make it anywhere. (I mean, let's be fair. There are very few places you can make a name for yourself in right now.) You can track their gimmicks over time, watch as they get better, or (amazingly) worse. I wonder though.. I wonder if these people know that there are two people in an office in SF spending their days looking up obscure pictures of them, finding out when they debuted, tracking their title histories, watching their careers grow, grumbling and wondering why they weren't facing the camera when they did a move, finding out when they were at a certain location, etc. It's a task that I find makes us feel a little bit less like video editors and more like P.I.'s. Or stalkers!

We were lucky enough to receive a batch of footage a few weeks ago that contains a match featuring Ox Baker, Andre the Giant, Karl Von Krupp, and Dick the Bruiser. I love watching the older style of wrestling, mostly because I have never really seen it. It's so interesting to see how much wrestling has changed over the years. The sport, the story, the production, everything. Quite amazing.

I am especially pleased with this match because it has Andre the Giant in it. I didn't watch wrestling much as a young girl, but I did watch a whole lot of the Princess Bride. Andre was my favorite part of the whole movie. I can honestly say I never saw Andre actually wrestle until I was about 16. By then, I missed everything (I am 22, now). So everytime I see Andre wrestle, it's brand new to me. He isn't quite the big huggable beast in the ring that he was in the movie, but he still has a definite charm in the ring. It's amazing to watch such a large person maneuver. When a person is that big they make the smallest wrestling maneuver seem simply devastating.

Actually, I just looked it up and here is a interesting fact, today is 10 days from the 13th anniversary of Andre's death. Everyone, take a moment to celebrate his life and check out one of his matches for FREE on www.ClickWrestle.com. (And check out The Princess Bride, too!)

Tales from the cage, part deux

Ahh! So.. I'll have you all know.. I am not suffering from multiple personality disorder. Let me explain what just happened in that last post.

So earlier today I opened up my little blogging tool and I tried to think of what to write about today.. I looked around.. and saw our cage. You read right, our cage. Bryan and I have our office in a section of the office which used to hold servers. The servers were kept within a cage that had a lock, so no one could come in a totally dismantle some poor website's servers. When BossMan got this office, he also received the server space. Bryan, who was hired before I was, took out all the old server equipment and set up desks in here to make it what is now our office. However, one thing remains.

So, that is our cage. I thought it would be sort of funny to show people that I work in a cage, har har har. Well, I got up to borrow BossMan's camera and took a good look at the cage. Now, I'll admit that the door isn't usually shut on the cage, but I thought it would add some comedy to close the door for the picture. So I closed it, took a couple pics, and returned the camera to Jason. I turned around, and attempted to return to my desk.

I failed. Apparently the door on our cage self locks. It closes; it's locked. So I locked the cage. Doh! Not a big deal, right? Just ask Bryan (who is in the cage) to come unlock it. I call Bryan over and he informs me there is no latch from the inside either! So as I am locked out, he has it worse.. He is locked in! Finding this very funny I take advantage of Bryan's vulnerable state, and take a picture of him locked in the cage. I then proceed to ask half of the people in the building if they have a key to the cage. Nope. Bryan looks at me gravely at this point and says, "I have to go to the bathroom." BossMan finally remembers that he DOES have the key.. at his house. BossMan trudges off to get the key, and I try to figure out what I am going to do in the meantime.. Of course, I had left all of my windows open on my computer. Including the blog I was trying to write. (Not to mention my email, a few chat panels, etc.) Bryan took advantage of that fact and wrote that last blog you saw. BossMan appears to had made it back in time to let Bryan get to the bathroom, I certainly don't see any suspicious puddles in the cage.

So.. I suppose we do more than put wrestling matches online at ClickWrestle.com. We also lock our coworkers in cages. Friday the 13th, Cheers!

Ahh, Anagrams. Gotta love 'em. Clicker Welts is pretty good, too. Sorry no blog yesterday! I had to call in sick. If I can make a suggestion: Just say no to grocery store sushi. It may look JUST like the sushi in your favorite Japanese restaurant, but it's not. Beware.

Anyhow.. Today I spend the day rendering. What is rendering? Well.. Rendering is altering, or converting. When my computer is rendering, it's going ahead and actually making all the permanent changes to the video that I requested it to do. Unfortunately, while the video is rendering, I can't do anything else to it. When you do video editing all day, you spend a good deal of time looking at this tiny little window-

Beautiful, aint it? Not really. One of the hardest parts of my job is dealing with the downtime involved with video editing. As BossMan would put it, Human Time and Computer Time: two very different things. While the computer is taking time to do it's thing, I have to try my best to be productive with my Human Time. So what do I do. Well, I blog, for one.. Go over any number of office tasks, review incoming footage, write match descriptions, stick things in Bryan's hair. The usual. Still, I can't help but feel a little unproductive while the computer does it's thing. Especially when Bryan is not here for me to pester. (I wonder if the evil grocery store sushi got him, too?!) However, the outcome is worth the wait. You'd be surprised by just how much a little sprucing up to a video can help.

There's something about Lacey

I am going to make an admission that a woman in my business shouldn't make, but I have to get it out. I am not entirely impressed with most US female wrestlers. There! I said it, that's right! Perhaps I've been spoiled by all of the awesome Japanese footage that has passed through my fingers here at CW headquarters, but it just seems like our American girls are not measuring up.

That said, when I do come across an American female wrestler who impresses me, I usually become a big fan quickly. Like Lacey. You may have noticed that one of her matches, against Tracey Brooks, came out on ClickWrestle today. Well, not only did that happen, but I also just happen to be editing a few of her matches today. Today I have been surrounded by the Lovely Lacy. I realized today that she is really pretty good. I didn't pay much attention to her when I first started getting her footage, but the more I watch, the more I like. She has fantastic ring presence, but above that, she is acrobatic. She moves gracefully and has some pretty surprising moves. She has a cartwheel into an elbow drop that never fails to impress me, and her ability to drop into the splits at the drop of a dime is cringingly awesome.
Anyhow.. Yay for Lacey, keep up the good work!

In other news.. I got pretty bored yesterday and redesigned the Production white-board. I tell ya, those white boards are the best.. They are like finger-paints for grown ups. BossMan probably doesn't appreciate my fine art, but I bet Bryan gets a kick out of those little hearts and swirls.

Ahh.. A slow day at the office. I love when that happens.. The sort of day where no one bugs you, and you're free to get to all that work that has been piling up on you. I certainly seem to have gotten a lot done today, and the day is only half over!

First off, I finalized everything for the new shipment of female matches, so they should be appearing on the New Releases list fairly soon. Of course, the New Releases seem to have a mind of their own, who knows what's going to come out next? You see, here on the back end of ClickWrestle, I will take a few matches, prepare them and set them up to go out on the new release listings. However, the new releases are randomized, so any of the matches that are ready can go out at any time, not necessarily in the chronological order I put them in. Everyday is an adventure here at ClickWrestle. :P

After finishing up the new female matches I got some more new footage from the BossMan, including some awesome matches from IWA-MS and some footage from WWWA. Business is doing well, it seems!

And here is my obligatory plug for my co-worker, Bryan. He gave me a hard time about not spending a paragraph or two talking about what great work he does in my first blog... So here we are. Bryan is the most awesomest co-worker ever. And watch out ladies- He's single!

Melissa vs. Sara Del Ray

I don't want to get into the habit of gushing over matches here, but tonight a very special match was posted on the site. The match was Cheerleader Melissa vs. Sara Del Ray from the ChickFight 3 tournament that took place last October at the APW Garage in California.

When it was announced that Sara Del Ray would be competing in ChickFight3 it was a real shocker. You see, Sara had turned her back on APW not too long ago to join rival promotion PWI and there was still some bad blood and hurt feelings between certain APW members and the wrestler who got her start in the business at APW and at the time was called "Nikki", now known as Sara Del Ray.

One person in particular that had issue with the return of Sara was Cheerleader Melissa. It was no secret around APW that Sara and Melissa had their fare share of problems getting along during training sessions. As Sara trained under American Dragon and Bobby Quance at APW Boot Camp, Melissa spent time in Japan and on the road perfecting her skills. Melissa's spot as top female wrestler was in jeopardy and many people were predicting that Sara would quickly pass up Melissa and prove to be the best female wrestler in APW and quite possibly North America.

Unfortunately, the question of Who is the Better Female Wrestler was never answered because as both women were quickly becoming outstanding wrestlers, Sara decided to leave APW and seek training from a rival school, while Melissa stayed with APW.

It was not until two years later, when APW announced the lineup for ChickFight3 that we realized there was a very real chance Melissa and Sara may finally have a chance to settle the debate. ChickFight3 was a tournament and both Melissa and Sara were a shoe-in to advance to the finals and hopefully compete against each other.

The night of the show a random drawing took place and the brackets were announced during the opening ceremonies. We were all surprised to find out that Melissa would be facing Sara in the opening round!

I'm not going to go into details on the match, but I will say that if you are fan of either Melissa or Sara or just female wrestling at all, you will not be disappointed with this match. I have seen many matches from both of them and have to say this is probably the best match I have ever seen out of these two amazing athletes. These women beat the hell out of each other for over 30 minutes and I still don't think we know who the better woman is. Hopefully we will see them again at ChickFight4!

First Day of Blogging!

Hey everyone!

I am Chynna! If you want to know a little more about me, you can check out my profile, but for now I will be using this as a platform to let everyone know what's going on with www.clickwrestle.com and, subsequently, what is going on in my world at work. On with the show, yes?

So today we got SIX years of footage from a southern California Indy wrestling promotion called "International Wrestling Council". They are an older promotion that went out of business a while back, but they have some pretty interesting stuff. A ton of Frankie Kazarian matches from early in his career, there is some B-Boy stuff, even a little bit of Puma before he was known as Puma (in this fed he was known as "Pinoy Boy").. And to spice it up a bit, there is even Cheerleader Melissa in this stack of footage; way back in her valet days with the Ballards. There is a ton of footage (64 discs! Jeez!) which means a ton of work for me, but I think it will totally be worth it to see a lot of my favorite Indy stars back when they were all very green. I'll let everyone know how the actual footage looks once I get into reviewing it.

In other news, I just finished previews for a batch of new women's matches from RF Direct called "IndyGirls 3". There are some really great matches in this batch, including some April Hunter, Talia, and Tracey Brooks stuff. I am a bit worried that some of the previews came off a little racey, especially the Talia/Alicia match.. But you guys will let me know what you think once they are released, right? =)

And as for the match that came out today, we have Pinoy Boy (Yay Puma!) against Ricky Reyes. Puma is one of my favorite wrestlers these days.. There is something about the way he moves.. He's a total predator. In any case, this match has him when he was totally green. You see all the spudding potential and he looks completely different without his developed body and mask.
